Tears of Ink

This is another image for the booklet I'm making for tafe.
Its inspired by John Howe and his love for ravens and crows.

I tried to use his sensibility of letting the image be a window into another world. Not sure if it worked.

The crow itself is crying ink and her feathers are dip pen nibs. I have a project involving dip pens and ink so I expressed my feeling towards the medium here.

The image was executed with watercolour pencils. Some photoship work was used to strengthen the yellow hues that the scanner washed out.
